You turn and I turn originates from the southern United States with African-American decent. It dates back to 1937 in Alabama. It can be performed as a line dance with some square dancing elements.
Instructions: Participants start off by finding a partner. Each pair starts by holding hands and going in a circle. They will then cross arms and spin around. One partner turns, then the next. Repeat as the song does. It’s best to follow the lyrics for help with the actions
